A Message from our Assistant Principal
Hey Raptors!
I am so excited to be starting my second year at Rogers as assistant principal! Prior to coming to Rogers, I was the assistant principal Hollingsworth S.T.E.A.M. Academy for three years. Before entering school leadership, I was a learning strategist at Walter Long S.T.E.A.M. Academy. I worked with teachers at all grade levels in supporting S.T.E.A.M. instruction. In addition, I taught second, fourth, and fifth grade for ten years at Walter Bracken S.T.E.A.M. Academy, the first S.T.E.A.M. school in Las Vegas. I have also taught preschool, Kindergarten, and teacher education courses for the University of Phoenix.
I am a native of Las Vegas, and I grew up by Nellis Air Force Base. I am a product of the Clark County School District and a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I spend my free time with my family. I have seven great children, ages seven to seventeen, and a wonderful husband of 18 years. My family loves being on the water, whether it is swimming, kayaking, fishing, or boating, it is always great spending time outdoors!
I look forward to another wonderful year at Lucille Rogers Elementary School. As a team, we will continue to grow and provide engaging opportunities for our students, digitally or face-to-face! If need be, feel free to contact me at nelsoml1@nv.ccsd.net.
